Brief:

Nee Formwork was instructed to complete the 132KV substation in Wainfleet near Skegness. A project representing a significant advancement in green energy infrastructure. This substation directly interfaces with an adjacent solar array. Playing a crucial role in the transition to renewable energy sources by efficiently converting and managing the electricity produced by solar panels.

Solution:

This project was awarded to us as repeat work following our successful completion of the Grendon Bess project. Our client, impressed by the quality and efficiency we demonstrated at Grendon, entrusted us with this critical task. Our team’s engineering precision ensured strict adherence to tolerance levels of +/- 3mm for foundational work and +/- 1mm for bolt clusters, guaranteeing the structural integrity and optimal performance of the substation.

Outcome:

Due to go live in August 2024, the Wainfleet Substation exemplifies cutting-edge technology and environmental stewardship. It embodies the shift towards sustainable energy solutions by effectively channelling solar power into the energy grid. This project highlights our expertise in constructing advanced energy facilities and our dedication to supporting the global movement towards renewable energy.
