What is the Purpose of Column Formwork?

Concrete is a commonly used building material globally due to its affordability and widespread availability. It offers great resistance to water and high temperatures, and can easily be moulded into different sizes and shapes to suit the needs of a particular project.

Nevertheless, despite its advantages, fresh concrete is unable to support itself. It needs to be placed into a mould where it can cure and transform into its desired shape. Therefore, it is essential to use the correct column formwork system for this purpose.

Concrete column formwork is used for building circular and rectangular concrete columns. Circular columns have formwork sections that evenly distribute loads, eliminating the need for ties. The strength of the formwork design supports these loads without the use of ties.
